Born and raised in
Hancock County
I have lived her most of my life
on my Dad's family farm.
As a child my dad took me for walks
in the woods, teaching me about plants & trees.
He taught me a love of nature and the mountains around me.
He also taught me to swing on grapevines.
One day a couple of years ago
I was looking for inspiration
so I took a walk through the woods.
I gathered grapevines, mosses, grasses
and other natural objects.
Upon returning to the house
I started twisting and turning the grapevines
then added the mosses and other
natural materials for my first wreath.
As family and friends visited
they discovered my talent hanging on the wall
in the form of a naturally decorative wreath.
They all wanted one for their homes, so I went into business.
For extra color and form I've added a few silk flowers here and there.
My daughter Megan is a junior at
Hancock County High School where she is active in 4-H, FFA,
and plans on attending University of Tennessee
where she will pursue a degree in agriculture.
She shares my love for the beautiful environment around us and has joined
me in the creation of natural art works that we sell locally and by
special order.
