After spending 23 years working with animals in Florida,
I moved to Hancock County, Tennessee
and found the peace and serenity that inspired me
to start wood burning and working with gourds.
I found that the gourds were not only good for
burning
they also made
wonderful bowls, baskets and many more things. |

Each gourd is different and the longer
you look at it you will find its purpose.
Gourds have been around for over 13,000 years
and have been described as
one of natures greatest gifts.
Of all known plants the gourd is the
only one
experts believed spanned the entire globe
in prehistoric times.
It was one of the first cultivated plants with the
earliest gourd artifacts dating from 11,000 B.C. |
Gourd represented a pure form of
mother nature in many
cultures,
and believed to have mystical power.
The gourd became the link between the visible and invisible worlds. |
